Carpe Diem BJJ began 10 years ago in Tokyo, Japan. It has now grown to six dojos across Japan, one dojo in London and finally one in Singapore.
With their extensive knowledge and experience, our instructors can’t wait to bring the unique brand of Carpe Diem BJJ to Singapore, where students can expect the highest quality of instruction with the class, sophistication and professionalism embedded in the brand's Japanese roots.
FASTEST GROWING SPORT IN THE WORLD
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most popular and the fastest growing martial art in the world right now. It has been established as one of the most effective combat styles. The sport has evolved from its Japanese roots in 1920’s Brazil and continued to develop for many decades after until its present modern format.
Your body will do things you never thought possible. You will contort into crazy positions. You will survive pressure and exhaustion. And you will learn to control and conquer other bodies – even larger, stronger, more athletic ones. You will learn to appreciate your body in a way that you never have before
BJJ is a fantastic sport and fitness activity, but it’s also a martial art. And that means that you will learn how to defend yourself with some of the most effective techniques to avoid and disable (only if you have to!) an aggressive attacker.
BJJ will help you manage your stress levels and increase your brain productivity and problem-solving skills. At Carpe Diem, BJJ also helps us manage our own self-image, teaches us respect and gives us a discipline that cannot be learned any other way.
Friendships will start by partnering up for classes and then grow to meet up for food and drinks after training. Slowly, you will find yourself watching every UFC card with your BJJ friends and travelling to tournaments together
BJJ is fun. Plain and simple. And fun is always good. There’s no better mind therapy than trying to figure your way out of your opponent’s half-guard.
Our classes are open to all skill levels, beginner through advanced.
YOGA FOR BJJ
A Yoga class developed to increase our longevity and joy on the mat. Our members can expect better flexibility, mobility, recovery, balance and injury prevention.
Open Mat is a non-instructional class where students may practice the application of technique through independent drilling and timed sparring matches.
Designed to provide students with a solid foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through basic BJJ theory, techniques and principles.
This Class will focus on taking the most advanced students to the next level. Fluidity of movement, high-level transitions and offensive strategy will be introduced and practised.
BJJ COMPETITION CLASS
A class designed to prepare our students for competition with a focus on sparring and building a competitive mindset.
